It seems history repeats itself and the rivalry still continues between LA Lakers and Boston Celtics. The Lakers and Celtics have met 10 times in NBA finals. Boston wins the first eight championship while Lakers got the last two. The rivalry originated in 1960 when Celtics defeated the Lakers six times (1962, 1963, 1965, 1966, 1968 and 1969). Celtics also won the 1983-84 NBA finals with predominantly of Caucasian players led by Larry Bird while 1984-1985 and 1986-1987 series was won by Lakers which composed by mostly African American players which led by Magic Johnson.
