Cybercrime Suspects arrested by Romanian Authorities

Romanian Authorities arrested a number of people between 21 to 24 who are cybercrime suspects, according to media reports the said people are suspected of running online fraud schemes. The suspects were accused of stealing identities online, in a way of phishing or auction fraud schemes and had taken $640,000 from non Romanians, most target are U.S. websites including eBay.
The alleged group leader, Romeo Chita was arrested in an apartment owned by democrat liberal lawmaker Dumitru Puzdrea. The said lawmaker was unaware of the crime group operating at one of his apartments. The arrests of the said suspects was an example of international cooperation between the two American and Romanian authorities.
In May, American and Romanian authorities announced charges against 38 people in two countries in alleged charged of internet phishing schemes. According to Wikipedia, Phishing is the criminally fraudulent process of attempting to acquire sensitive information such as usernames, passwords and credit card details, by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication.
