A chinese man was jailed and sentenced for two years for hacking Red Cross website and asking for earthquake donations to be sent to his account. The 23 years old Yang Litao was guilty of fraud and sentenced for two years by a court in eastern Jiangsu province.
Yang Litao hacked Red Cross website, six days after the May 12 earthquake in Sichuan province. He stole the site administrator’s identity and password, then post a fake notice asking for a relief donations to be deposited in his account. Yang also loaded a virus that made the site down for 27 hours during the relief operations. Too bad for him because the authorities caught him before any donations was been made.
