Pau Gasol’s younger brother has signed for Memphis Grizzlies. Marc Gasol who played the last five season (2003-08) in the Spanish ACB League and was named as 2008 ACB Most Valuable Player. He was averaging 16.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks for team Akasvayu Girona.

The 7-1, 280 pound center was part of the gold medal winning Spanish National Team at the 2006 FIBA World Championship and the Silver Medalist team in the 2007 FIBA European Basketball Championship. Marc was originally selected by Lakers as the 48th overall pick in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft. He played for two seasons for Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis from 2001-2003.

Marc’s brother Pau Gasol was trade to Lakers in exchange for forward/center Kwame Brown, rookie guard Javaris Crittenton, guard Aaron McKie, the draft rights to Marc Gasol, two future first round draft picks and cash considerations. Marc Gasol was the third Spaniard player to play for Memphis Grizzlies, with brother Pau and current Grizzlies rookie guard Juan Carlos Navarro.
