The USA Basketball Executive Committee named the 12 players who will represent the United States for the coming Beijing Olympics. Among the list are NBA Most Valuable Player Kobe Bryant, NBA scoring machine Lebron James.

According to Jerry Colangelo, managing director for USA Basketball and NBA Phoenix Suns chairman, “It’s already proven that a group of all stars does not necessary ensure that your going to win”. The USA Basketball Senior National Team has 6 guards, 5 forwards and 1 center.

Head Coach for the team is Mike Krzyzewski while his assistant coach are Jim Boeheim, Mike D’Antoni and Nate McMillan. The US Basketball team had only won Bronze last 2004 Athens Olympic and third place in Japan world basketball tournament.

USA Basketball Men’s Senior National Team - Kobe Bryant, guard (Lakers), Deron Williams, guard (Jazz), Dwayne Wade, guard (Heat), Chris Paul, guard (Hornets), Michael Redd, guard(Bucks), Jason Kidd, guard (Mavericks), Lebron James, forward (Cavaliers), Carmelo Anthony, forward (Nuggets), Carlos Boozer, forward (Jazz), Chris Bosh, forward (Raptors), Tayshaun Prince, forward (Piston) and Dwight Howard, forward/center (Magic).
