Joining a Contest is not BAD

Some people says joining a contest is just a waste of time. Well, on my part it is not but I choose what contest will I go on with. The better and bigger the prize than that’s in for me, why spending some time joining on some non sense contest which you find out that it will not do good on your part right? There are some contest who will offer some non sense prizes and that’s totally a waste of time to join, but the decision is up to you whether you will join or not. I myself is a contest fanatics but I see to it that the contest I joined has something to offer not only money.
I joined and declined a lot of contest since this blog was made. There are times I won but mostly were loss but that’s fine (probably just being a good sport I guess). I won the second prize which is a $200 promotional Bidvertiser account for TheRatingBlog Contest and a header ad spot for Aruntheace contest, and that enough for me (to be honest I really want to win the first prize
I’m not hypocrite). One time I joined a texting contest on a television show here in the Philippines and the prize is worth 1 million pesos and I won 1,000 pesos worth of cellphone load (I’m thinking how can I made this 1,000 load into cash) . Joining a contest is not bad at all, it’s just a game don’t expect of winning it cause it will make you feel bad if you found out that you didn’t make it.

Definitely, joining blog contests is not bad. In fact, you can use it to increase your readership. When I was given the chance to choose my prize, I choose the interview prize instead of cash and EC Points because I know the interview will go a long way.
Thanks, kabayan.

@guardian angel
I will also chose the price you picked if I had the chance. The long-term reward of an interview is really better than the other prizes.

puneet: there are some contest who has lots of rules to be follow but the prize is not worth enough and that’s a totally waste of time.
guardian angel: honestly I don’t go on contest that will give EC points, I will prefer for an interview than EC points but if the cash prize is worth than 4 digit us dollars, I will grab it than interview.
NDS: maybe some of it I guess but not in general.

Puneet: I’m just being practical bro. a hundred or 4 digit multiply by 42 is not a small amount for an ordinary person.
