This is a good news to all Microsoft Windows XP user. Software giant Microsoft reminded all users that the operating system will be supported until April 2014 in accordance with the Microsoft Support Lifecycle policy. This means that the Mainstream Support phase will end on April 14, 2009 and the Extended Support phase will end on April 8, 2014.
Windows XP was launched in 2001 and Microsoft is committed to provide a minimum 10 years of support at the time it was release. This could be a great news and advantage for Microsoft users because it allows for future business planning and allows customers to maximize their investment in Microsoft Technology. However Microsoft might reconsider the decision to end retail on large computer maker availability. System Builders will continue to be able to obtain XP through January 31st, 2009.

I think the Microsoft and the customers will both benefit if Windows XP Support will still continue until 2014 ”. It may be advantage to the company’s side but I think what’s important is the service they will provide to the customer.
