- Imagine how SEO is now important and how much impact it makes when this domain was been sold to WashingtonVC.

Sold for $5.1 million in January 2000
- Brought during the height of the .com boom. It’s exception among the others because of its very long domain name.
6. Casino.com
Sold for $5.5 million in 2003
- Gambling Sites.
5. Beer.com
Sold for $7 million in 2004
- Actually this domain was sold in 1999 to generic domain name developer for $80,000 in a deal that left Fisher with a 20% stake in the domain name. Within months, the domain name was flipped to one of the world’s largest beer companies for a cool $7,000,000, one of the highest prices ever paid for a domain name.

Sold for $7.5 million in 2006
- This was formerly own by Odimo an online retailer based in Sunrise, FL. Then sold its diamond and jewelry busines, including the domain name to Ice.com, an online diamonds and jewelry retailer.

Sold for $9.5 million in 2007
- This is the second largest adult domain transaction behind sex.com . Porn.com is one of the top type-in traffic adult entertainment destination. Personally, I don’t know what’s on this site

Sold for $11-14 million in January 2006
- The most expensive domain ever changed hands in 2006. Previously owned by Gary Kremen, registered in 1994. The domain hit the news in 1995 when it was stolen. After long battle in court, Kremen restored his ownership. No idea what’s on this site again

Sold for $350 million in 2007
- Purchased by R.H. Donnelley who beat out Dow Jones and the New York Times during the bidding. The sale was about 47 times the $7.5 million 1999 purchase price. Business.com currently brings about $15 million dollars a year in revenue. So the sale was 24 times earnings.
